Guitar virtuoso Sheryl Bailey joins bassist Kelly Roberti for a quick romp across the state of Montana, both concertizing and teaching, from Thursday, April 12 through Sunday, April 15. Sheryl and Kelly were introduced a few years back by a mutual friend, that not only has deep respect for the guitar and the music, but is the creator and keeper of a favorite guitar hero’s (the late Emily Remler) website… www.allthingsemily.com… her name is Lu and she should be loudly applauded for keeping Emily’s spirit intact. Kelly toured with Emily for years and that makes these shows even more important. Sheryl is a true fan of Em’s and that is the icing on the cake. She has taken Emily’s broken ground and steps even further…the duo will stretch this with their own voices on a Montana journey.
Another wonderful part of this story, on Thursday, April 12 in Billings, MT at the Yellowstone Valley Brewing Company in the Garage Pub starting at 6:00, another old friend of Emily’s will join Bailey and Roberti. The legendary Brad Edwards will make it a trio! The admission for this is a mere suggested $5.00! Thanks to the Brewery… that is incredible! This is a tremendous way to start this trip off.
On both Thursday April 12 and Friday April 13 Bailey and Roberti will do lessons and a masterclass at a studio in Billings (contact kelroberti@gmail.com). Then that night, Friday April 13, Bailey and Roberti will do a duet show at “The Shed” on the eastern frontage road in Bozeman, MT at 7:30. The admission is $18.00 and that is another bargain. We really hope to see the entire Bozeman crowd out on this evening… The Shed is a tremendous venue… all music, all the time.
The next morning, Saturday, April 14, Sheryl and Kelly teach private lessons and a masterclass at MSU until they travel to Missoula, MT for a concert at the wonderful Daly Jazz. Bruce Anderson has created a jazz landmark in Missoula with this venue and Missoula supports it big. The show starts at 7:00 and the admission is $25.00. Thanks Bruce, your continuing support of the music is really what’s needed.
The next afternoon (Sunday, April 15) Bailey and Roberti are found at the KM Theater in downtown Kalispell, MT. (40 Second Street East, in the historic Kalispell Mercantile Building). This show starts at 3:00. Admission is $20 and tickets will be available available at The Kalispell Grand Hotel, Ceres Bakery, Montana Coffee Traders, and Noice Studio and Gallery. Montanans, please come out to support the music across the state and to help reopen a circuit of sorts for all musicians and listeners to enjoy. For info concerning the concerts, classes and lessons please don’t hesitate to contact Kelly Roberti at kelroberti@gmail.com.
