A friend said “they frolic about us as they dissolve

and join the universe”

So very true but the “just ten minutes more” adage 

still weighs on my tears

We shared the bags and wrinkles

and your wisdom was intravenous

The same friend told me to inhale you

I think I already have

though a thimble full of you

would be a pleasing snort 
as you meld your smile again

into a cellular image

you ain’t goin’ nowhere
